"When the lute finally arrived I was very impressed at the overall quality of the instrument and case. I had two other lutes available and contrasted measurements. It is a little smaller than the lutes I have been playing and has a tighter spacing due to the smaller dimensions. However, this is not a problem with the lute it just takes getting used to. The only criticism that stands is the action of the instrument is a little bit higher than would be preferred. I am preparing for graduate work on the lute and needed an instrument that would allow me to audition and prepare for competitions and festivals. I have been playing this lute for the past few days in contrast with two other lutes and was astounded by how robust the instruments tone was. It has a depth and resonance that the other two lacked. I performed Sir John Smith His Almain by John Dowland in a large concert hall. The instrument projects very well without compromising its tone. The tone is consistent across the bass and trebles. I feel very fortunate to have this instrument. I went through three Pakistani lutes as I progressed and transitioned from guitar to lute. Each time these Pakistani lutes came they needed lots of work just to be playable and never resonated they way they ought because of "bulky construction". My new lute from Le Luth Doré ® needed two days to adjust to the new climate and was ready to play thanks to the built in hydrometer and humidifier in the case. I am excited to see how Le Luth Doré® assists in the revival of the lute and intend on purchasing further products!"
