Yesterday, I received my baroque lute from Le Luth Doré®, the Weiss model [fast delivery well wrapped in a strong container]. I tuned it up immediately.

Its fibre glass case is well made, light and equipped with a strap, and it comes with excellent waterproofing.

The instrument is very beautiful, with excellent finish. Its back is made of nine flame maple ribs with excellent regular patterning and ebony insets.

The fine satin polish is even, the pores of the wood well filled and not standing out. The table is of a clear color with a very fine grain with very regular pattern.

The pegbox is just the right size and the elegant bass extension seems sufficiently robust. The pegs are made of ebony and turn smoothly [it comes with a peg turner].

There is a strap button and the LLD monogram, which can be seen at the base of the arm, on the rear cap, and on the pegs, is discrete but to excellent effect. These signatures reveal the justified pride of its designer.

This morning, I finely readjusted the tuning which had already stabilized. I attached a strap [as I am only at ease playing in the standing position]; and I began playing, and found myself immediately enjoying it.

The sound is round and full, with excellent tone, responding precisely to every nuance [a pity my fingers did not carry out exactly what my mind desired!].

The basses are powerful and clear with good sustain; and so now I will have to become a little more careful with my bass stopping.

The setup chosen by Miguel is optimal both as to string spacing and their height in relation to the fingerboard and table, and also as to the choice of fret diameter and so no parasitic vibration occurred.

My fingers instantly found their positions and so I could concentrate completely on the music.

Miguel, your lute is a great success, at once beautiful and well balanced; and it's qualities go quite beyond those one can expect at this price point, making it an excellent concert lute.
