This complete set of 15 Aquila Nylgut® strings has been specially designed for 8-course Renaissance lutes (scale length 57 to 60 cm).

Developed by Miguel Serdoura, it fits all types of 8-course Renaissance lutes. We offer sets adapted to various scale lengths.

Aquila Nylgut® strings combine longevity, tuning stability, natural feel, balanced projection, and a tone very close to gut.

History

About Aquila Nylgut® Strings

Developed in Italy by Aquila Corde Armoniche, Nylgut® strings are designed to reproduce the sound and feel of natural gut strings while offering the advantages of modern materials.

Patented in 1997, this innovative synthetic material faithfully replicates the density and timbre of gut, but with much better stability against humidity and temperature changes.

These strings quickly became a benchmark among lutenists thanks to their warm tone, lasting tuning stability, and excellent performance in concerts.

They are perfectly suited for Renaissance and Baroque instruments and are recommended by Miguel Serdoura for their balance between tradition and reliability.
